The Kalangba School Project has a rich history dating back to the 1940s when the American Wesleyan mission established a primary school. The Sierra Leone Wesleyan Church continued to build on this foundation. To address the need for continued education, Paramount Chief Kandeh Saio III played a key role in establishing the Kalangba Agricultural Secondary School.
Realizing that many children after finishing primary school could not afford to continue their education outside of the Chiefdom, Paramount Chief Kandeh Saio III took the initiative to establish the first secondary school in Gwanhun Chiefdom. Today, the school faces infrastructure challenges that the Muana Charity Foundation is working to address through the Kalangba School Project.
The project aims to construct a new 11-classroom school building, providing a safe and empowering learning environment for the children of Gwanhun Chiefdom. Additionally, the school requires qualified teachers, updated textbooks, and modern technology infrastructure, such as computers and internet connectivity, to enhance the students' learning experience and prepare them for the digital age.
Similarly, the primary school is in need of support and resources, including qualified teachers, updated textbooks, and renovations to the building to provide a safe and conducive learning environment for the students. The school also requires modern technology infrastructure, such as computers and internet connectivity, to enhance the students' learning experience and prepare them for the digital age.
